Die-casting deburring unit
There is a variety of applications that require deburring tools for downstream machining of cast components. The majority of deburring tools is used in die-casting to automatically remove burrs from freshly cast components.
The unit consisting of a hydraulic cylinder, guide, and tool (cutter) intended to cut off protruding geometries is referred to as sliding cutter.
Our sliding cutter solutions
The occurrence of lateral forces cannot be avoided in this application. This lateral force must be absorbed by a guide in order to prevent cylinder damage. Slide units were developed precisely for this application. They integrate the cutter guidance and the cylinder into a single unit, making them very compact.
To ensure great precision of the guide in the long term, AHP Merkle developed a proprietary guide many years ago, which extends over the entire housing length. This cast guide is does not require any maintenance and has been designed to last the entire service life of the slider unit.
