Mold locking using hydraulic cylinders

The hydraulic cylinder moves the sealing plungers into the openings during the forming process to seal them. In pipe forming applications, the hydraulic cylinder is also used to feed the material or to compress the component ends using the sealing plunger. For this reason, most hydraulic cylinders are fitted with a linear position sensing system to optimize process monitoring.
