Hydraulics for shipbuilding

Hydraulics are an important aspect of shipbuilding, both in shipyard operations and on the ship itself.

Nowadays, ships segments will be prefabricated before being joined to form a complete ship. This often involves pushing and lifting technology based on hydraulic cylinders as segments that often weigh several hundred tons need to be lifted, leveled, and moved.

Hydraulic drives and hydraulic cylinders are also required for a wide variety of applications on the ship itself.

Compact, safe, and reliable drives are required to control the rudder system and need to allow manual operation if and when necessary. Such manual operation at full actuating force of hydraulic systems can be implemented quite easily using hand pumps connected in parallel.

They can also be used for controlling cranes and service platforms, which use powerful control technology to keep the components stable in the sea and compensate for any movements of the ship.

Or for controlling large paddle-type components, stabilization systems that minimize the effects of waves on the ship and ensure a comfortable sea voyage.

They control large amounts of water in special ships that can be lowered by several meters to take their cargo on board or execute special tasks on the seabed.

Hydraulic drives are used in various related applications.
