Automotive engineering and mobile applications

Automotive engineering

Hydraulics are very common in automotive engineering and other mobile applications found in agriculture, construction, and forestry. One of the reasons is that lightweight hydraulic drives can transmit very large forces and enormous power. Suitable controllers, some of which have been specifically developed for such mobile applications, enable safe and reliable hydraulic drive control. Due to the increasing use of monitoring and automation, smart cylinders with limit switches and position sensing systems of various designs are becoming ever more popular. AHP Merkle has decades of experience in this area and set benchmarks for industrial applications.

Linear cushioning

Special compact cylinders with integrated interlocking systems and special cushioning concepts for safe dissipation of kinetic energy that can rightfully be called engineering masterpieces enable weight reduction while improving functionality and reliability at the same time.

Special cylinders

Entirely new drive systems such those of our E-AHP series can replace heavy and bulky hydraulic systems and still have outstanding drive specifications with the advantages of hydraulics. Using an E-AHP, i.e. a compact hydraulic axle, does not require a hydraulic pump, hydraulic tank, piping, or any valve technology. This variant offers a very energy-efficient and reliable drive solution that is particularly suitable for e-mobility.
