Foreword

I was ask. to write a word of welc., 50 Years of
Merkle. What to say? The author only grant. me
800 charac., with spaces mind you!

Now I’m sitting in ORD* waiting for my flight
to MUC. I finally have a bit of time and space to
ponder what there is to say about the Merkles.
Those two never seem to rest either, always on
a mission. ;-)

To properly highlight all of Katrin and Christen’s
key facets – clearly not enough. To express all
my gratitude – clearly too much. That’s not their
style. At least that’s how I’ve always known them.
Laid-back, charming, reliable, committed,
and definitely always as a pair. That’s actually
what I find most remarkable.
